ValueList Values Properties
the plugin properties in this section are applied at the valuelist value level use these to map the horizontal to vertical pivot functionality specified at the source domain level in dataset level > source dataset > pivot table for each source row in the source dataset there will be an output row for each value specified in the valuelist mapping used to specify that mapping for the target variable using the list of options specified, this is the main source of logic to map the target variable back to the source variable(s) if there are multiple source datasets then users can specify multiple mapping elements as a result the need to use the source dataset identifier property in this element source type used to classify the type of mapping for the target variable a list of all the different possible types of mappings the system is capable of this will be used in conjunction with the plugin properties below to determine what the mapping will be the list of source type mappings are none source variable string function dataset lookup copy mapping choice source see previous description do not uppercase see previous description function see previous description copy mapping see previous description choice see previous description dataset lookup source see previous description original unit specific mapping type at the valuelist level this is a mapping element that will be used in conjunction with the other mappings specified in sdtm the horizontal to vertical pivot will often be used for findings tests for example, vital signs tests such as height, weight and temperature these will be collected in a horizontal format, i e one column for each test in sdtm these values will all be pivoted so there will be 3 target rows for one input in this example often collected along with the test is a column for its unit this mapping element is to choose the original unit for one of the tests used in the pivot source type used to specify the source type for this mapping this is restricted to none source string source see previous description controlled terminology lookup see previous description variable specific mapping type at the valuelist level it is a way for users to provide generic mappings based on the pivot operation for each value in the valuelist users can point to variables in the parent domain to specify basic mappings this means that as each source row will produce as many rows as values specified, this mapping provides a way for users to map as many columns as required for each pivot row this is a useful operation in sdtm for example in labs, source lab datasets would have one column for each collected lab test in sdtm each collected lab test would have to be pivoted into one row also, this would have to populate a number of different columns in sdtm such as orres, orresu, stat, stresc, stresn, stresu, spec and others this mapping type allows this to be easily set for each column and allows users to specify for each unique testcd domain specify the parent domain of the variable you want to map for this pivot row this must be the same domain as the parent domain of the valuelist variable specify the variable in the domain specified to apply the mapping detailed below mapping source type used to specify the source type for this mapping this is restricted to none source string mapping source see previous definition controlled terminology lookup see previous definition source dataset identifier see previous definition
