Unit Properties
unit properties are added from the properties tab under medidata rave properties measurement units can be grouped in unit dictionaries which allows them to be converted to the same measurement type for example, converting temperatures from fahrenheit to celsius to convert the content of a measurement unit into another measurement type, the following equation is used standard value = constant a/constant b (user value + constant c) + constant k unit dictionary name used to specify which unit dictionary the measurement unit applies to for example, ‘temperature’ this property must be set to the same value in each measurement unit in the unit dictionary standard used to specify that the selected measurement unit is the standard unit in the unit dictionary it belongs to this property must be set to ‘yes’ for one of the measurement units in the unit dictionary this will be the measurement unit that all other units in the unit dictionary convert to constant a used to specify the ‘constant a’ value to convert the user value to the standard measurement unit constant b used to specify the ‘constant b’ value to convert the user value to the standard measurement unit constant c used to specify the ‘constant c’ value to convert the user value to the standard measurement unit constant k used to specify the ‘constant k’ value to convert the user value to the standard measurement unit unit dictionary example this is an example of a unit dictionary which converts fahrenheit to celsius where the celsius measurement unit is the standard, the fahrenheit measurement unit is configured as follows export datasets on export, the dataset will contain the original values, original units, the normalized values and units units can be used independently on questions, but when two units in the same unit dictionary are applied to a question, the conversion triggers if a unit dictionary contains a single unit, the export will still include a normalized column, however the value of ‘–orres’ and ‘—stresu’ will be equal (i e conversion factor of one)
